AG Websites: Blocks

Learn how to create and reuse Blocks across your AG website.

Updated today

Blocks are reusable elements that you create once and use multiple times across your site. They are especially helpful when you want to display the same content in several places, such as a contact form, special announcement, or a featured artists section.

Important to know:

  • If you update the block, the update automatically applies everywhere that block is used, which can save time and keep the site consistent.

  • When you add a block to a page, you can't edit the content of the block for that location only.

Creating a block

1. Navigate to the Blocks page, and click + Add Block.

2. Name your Block, then click Save & Close.

3. You'll now be in the Block design page, where you can choose elements from the left-hand section, to fill out and structure your block. You can choose from the following:

Grid Containers

These are pre-defined content sections, split into different grid layouts. You can pick different container layouts, and fill them with content.

Elements

Different static media can be inserted into blocks. These can be uploaded directly to your media library from your local computer.

Forms

These forms allow site visitors to engage further with your content.

4. Once you have created your block, click Save & Close to begin using it.

Using a block

Now that your block has been created, you can use it on your various pages.

1. Navigate to the Pages screen, find the page you want to edit, and click Design.

On the left-hand section, click Custom Blocks, and find the block you want to use.

2. Click & drag the block onto the page, looking for the green line, and align it where you want on the page.

You can create as many blocks as you need and just repeat the same steps each time.
