You can import multiple artists at once using a CSV file. This process is much quicker than adding artists one by one. Art Galleria provides a CSV template to make the process easier (see the steps below for information).
IMPORTANT: Handling Empty Cells Before Importing CSV Files
Before you import a CSV file into our system, we strongly recommend reviewing your CSV file closely and then:
Deleting any empty columns, and
Identifying any empty cells.
This step is essential when you already have data in the system, because you might unintentionally overwrite existing data in the system. That happens because the system interprets empty cells in the CSV as an instruction to clear any pre-existing data in the corresponding fields.
Taking this step protects the integrity of your data, ensuring the system imports only the information you intend. Time spent in preparation will enhance the accuracy and completeness of your data within our system, and save you time in the future.

Option 1 - Use the Art Galleria CSV template
1. Open Inventory.
2. Scroll down and click Import CSV.
3. Click Download artists template.
4. You can use this CSV file as a guide to format your existing artist data:
Records will be matched based on a combination of first-name and last-name.
Or automatically by matching to the artist code, useful for instance, if you have multiple artists with the same first-name and last-name.
5. Open the template:
Copy your artist data into the appropriate template columns.
Once done save the file as a CSV.
6. To upload your CSV, open the same window where you downloaded the template by going to Inventory and scrolling down to click Upload CSV.
7. Click in the Click here to select your CSV or TSV file to upload area to select your CSV file, then click Upload CSV.
8. Make sure that the columns from your CSV are correctly mapped to the Inventory. In the event that things haven't happened automatically:
Click Change to map the columns to another field.
Select the appropriate column.
9. Click Next Step: Process Import.
10. You will get a successful message if everything went well with the import.
11. You can now view your newly added artists in the Artist Profiles section.
Option 2 - Use an existing CSV
If you already have a record of the artists you work with in a spreadsheet, or export one from another inventory management system you're using, you can upload it to Art Galleria using the field mapping tool.
To do this, follow the steps outlined above from #7.
