Processing payments with Stripe Terminals

Learn how to use your Stripe + Art Galleria connected terminal.

Art Galleria supports Stripe Terminals, allowing you to take secure, in-person payments directly within the platform.

You can send invoice payments to your connected terminal, where clients simply tap or insert their card. Each transaction is processed instantly through Stripe and automatically reflected in your Art Galleria invoices, sales reports, and Stripe dashboard.

Before you start

You must have already connected a Stripe account to your Art Galleria account, and set up your Stripe terminals. For instructions to do this, see:

Selecting a terminal

1. In Art Galleria, navigate to Sales > Invoices.

2. Create a new invoice, or open one that you wish to process a payment on.

3. At the bottom of the invoice page, click Enter Payment.

4. Click the Stripe Terminal tab, and click Select terminal to show your list of available terminals.

5. Click Discover Readers, and a list of registered terminals should populate. Next click Connect on the desired reader to connect to it. This will take a couple of seconds.

6. Once connected, the terminal information will display. Click Back to return to the POS payment screen, where you can enter the payment details.

Processing a payment

1. Enter the payment amount.

2. Input a reference (this is optional).

3. Click Capture payment.

4. After a few seconds, the payment amount and invoice number will display on the terminal screen.

5. After the payment is successfully processed, the page will refresh and payment information will be added to the invoice.

All payments made via the stripe terminal can also be viewed in the Stripe dashboard under the Payments page.

Important Note

When sending a payment to the terminal ensure that the terminal:

  • Is on the Home screen, with the Stripe logo displaying.

  • Does not currently display any errors on screen.

  • Has sufficient battery

Failure to comply with the above may result in a declined payment.
