Setting up Stripe Terminals

Connect your Stripe terminal to Art Galleria for integration in-person payments.

With Stripe Terminals, you can take in-person payments for artworks effortlessly using a tap-to-pay device. Every transaction is automatically synced and recorded in your Art Galleria account.

This integration unifies online and in-person sales, helping galleries and artists manage payments effortlessly in one place. Whether at a fair, gallery, or private viewing, every transaction is quick, professional, and fully synchronized.

Step 1: Connect or create a stripe account

You must connect a Stripe account to your Art Galleria account before reader payments can be made.

You can do this in Art Galleria > Settings > Payment Services > Add Stripe Payments. For detailed instructions see Setting up online payments with Stripe.

Step 2: Select one of the supported terminal models

Select from the following terminal models to find the one most appropriate for your business: Stripe S700, Stripe S710, or BBPOS WisePOS E.

Step 3: Register a reader on Stripe

A device must first be registered on the Stripe website before it is able to be discovered by AG.

1. After creating or connecting to AG with a Stripe account, go to the Stripe dashboard.

2. Click on Payments from the top, then Readers on the left.

3. Click on the +New button to create a new location (locations are used to organize readers), follow the instructions to finish creating a new location.

4. After creating a new location, from the Terminal screen, click the Readers tab to register a terminal.

5. Click Register Reader and enter the serial number, or generate a pairing code.

Helpful Tips

  • Ensure the reader is online and connected to the Internet.

  • To open the Settings menu on the Stripe Terminal, swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a Settings button.

  • Tap the Settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139 (refer to Stripe website for the latest admin PIN in case this information changes).

  • From here, you can update your WiFi settings or generate a pairing code for device registration.

  • Battery status is displayed at the top right of this screen.

  • To close the settings menu, click the back arrow in the top left corner.

6. Enter a reader name: e.g. “Front-desk-1” and select the location you created earlier.

7. The Stripe Terminal should shortly appear in list of connected readers.
