AG Websites: Enabling 'in situ' artwork viewing

You can now use the Display In Situ option for AG Websites.


This feature allows you to enable a Display in Situ button for individual artworks on your AG Website, making it easier for viewers to visualise artworks within an interior setting.

Enabling the feature on artworks

The Display in Situ field can also be updated in bulk using the following methods:

(A) Bulk Actions

  1. Select the artworks to update in Inventory

  2. Click Bulk Actions > Update Attributes

  3. Select Display In Situ from the drop-down menu

  4. Select the Display in situ checkbox

  5. Click Review and Update

  6. Click Update Attributes

(B) CSV Import

  1. Go to Reports > Custom Reports

  2. Export a CSV with the fields to update, and make sure you include the Inventory ID column

  3. Update the Display in Situ column to Yes

  4. Re-import the CSV file to update the field (see Updating existing artworks using a CSV for detailed instructions)

(C) On a Single Artwork

You can activate this option directly on the artwork record:

  1. Edit Artwork > Portfolio > Display in Situ

  2. Check the Display in Situ box to enable the button for that artwork on your website.

  3. Click Update Artwork


Configuring the In Situ display options

You can select the chair, wall, and floor to use in the in situ display.

To define these visual elements, open the AG Websites page which stores the design for individual artwork displays. This page will have a name like [Artwork Title] by [Artist Name] - ________ Gallery:

1. Click on the section that displays the placeholder artwork content (the area in the middle of the page outlined in black above.)

2. In the Artwork Details Section menu on the right, expand the In-Situ option:

3. Select the wall color, floor color, floor texture, and chair design.

4. Format the View in Situ button according to your preferences:

  • Alignment on page

  • Button profile - color and style

  • Enable hover - this will change the button look when you move your mouse

  • Show border - display a border on the button

  • Set the button border radius to round the button corners

  • Select an icon to display on the button, and it's position

5. Click Save or Save & Close when done.
