Creating and removing custom Inventory fields

Add custom fields to suit your requirements.

Updated over a week ago

Our custom inventory fields allow you to track certain artwork features or criteria that are not covered with the standard Art Galleria fields. Follow the steps in this tutorial to add your own custom fields to make managing your inventory even easier.

The fields you add here will be available when you edit an artwork, and you can also change your inventory view to make them visible in your main inventory.

This article covers how to:

Watch our video demonstration, or scroll down for step-by-step instructions.

Create custom fields

1. Click Inventory, then Settings.

2. Click Add new field.

3. Enter a field name, select a field type, then click Create Field.

4. Make your custom field visible by dragging it using the cross icon from the Available fields (not in use) column to the Artwork Fields (active) column.

5. You can change a field's placement by moving it between the different "tab" areas in the column (which correspond to tabs in the Edit Artwork screen), and by moving the field up or down within each of the tabs:

  • Basic Info

  • Details

  • Edition

  • Pricing & Costs

  • Custom

5. Your new custom field has been created, and will be visible when you edit an artwork.

View your custom artwork field

1. Open Inventory and then click three dots (...) on an artwork and select Edit.

2. You can now view the custom field you created.

Hide a custom inventory field

To hide a custom field, simply drag the field from the Artwork Fields (active) column to the Artwork Fields (Not in use) column in the Inventory > Settings screen.

Edit custom artwork tabs

You can create, rename, delete and reorganise the custom artwork tabs. This can be done by clicking the "Add a new tab" button in the Artwork Fields Settings.
